God has shown us His grace many times in projects He has led us to in many
parts of the world. Once it was when Bill was outside his comfort zone due to
cultural and language barriers visiting Cluj, Romania. Bill was there to install
an x-ray machine in a prison clinic. He met Pastor Nicu there, who served with
Romanian Prison Fellowship, and asked Bill to give a message at a rural church.
Early Sunday morning, Pastor Nicu walked toward the road announcing they
would “walk by face.” Feeling confused, Bill followed his lead.
Twenty minutes later they were still walking, with no cars in sight, and Bill’s mind
whirled with questions about this adventure. Finally, one car appeared and Pastor
Nicu flagged him down. The driver kindly agreed to take them. They arrived
at the church and hurried inside because the service was already starting. Bill
learned that what had sounded to him like “walk by face” was “walk by faith” with
a strong Romanian accent.
In his message, Bill shared examples of several individuals in the Bible whose
lives were changed by Jesus’ touch. With his “walk by faith” that morning, Bill
himself felt changed. We rejoice remembering that day we witnessed anew God’s
sovereignty and His gracious provision.
Thank You, Father, for the ways You lovingly give us opportunities to see Your
hand working around us. May those times be reminders to us of the amazing
gift of the new life that You gave us through Jesus’ finished work on the cross.
Help us to go out and be instruments of Your grace in others’ lives.
