For He who has mercy on them will lead them, even by the springs of water He will
guide them. Isaiah 49:10 NKJV
“Stay with your buddy, and be mindful of those in front and behind you.” This
was good advice as our group of Grace young adults climbed down a small hole
following our guide into the cave to go spelunking. This reminds me how God,
in His mercy, uses the church as a means for leading us in our spiritual journey.
God places us with “buddies” in a community to deepen our communion,
commitment, and consecration to Himself. Many times we pray for His guidance
and desire refreshing streams in our lives, but we fail to see God using the daily
ministry and community of the church to help accomplish it.
I have been blessed here at Grace Presbyterian Church to see and experience
God using this church to mercifully lead and guide me and others into a deeper
grasp of the gospel and its transforming power. It is sweet to have godly saints
as examples and coaches in front of us, peers with an equal heart for God at our
sides, and the next generation of Christians behind us watching, as we live for
Christ today.

Father, thank You for mercifully leading us in the church community, and
may we continue to pass Your grace on to the next generation.
