Therefore God has highly exalted him…so that at the name of Jesus every knee
should bow. Philippians 2:9–10
Philippians 2 has frequently been a theme in our years of missionary service.
Christ humbled Himself and came as a man, temporarily setting aside His
full glory, so that you and I could receive His grace and bow before Him now.
Everyone will eventually bow and recognize His lordship, but we have received
His grace—truly unmerited favor—to believe and follow Him willingly now.
God’s grace continues to pursue us, sometimes through deeper brokennes.
His grace teaches us to put away self and pride, and develop a deeper love for His
true self, His Word, and the lost and struggling souls around us who need to hear
of His grace and message of redemption.
Each step of our journey—salvation, redemption, sanctification, service and
worship—is a result of Christ’s glorious person and unmerited favor toward us
through the cross and His resurrection.
Lord, help us to fully grasp the depths of Your grace toward us, so that we
might live fully in You each day of our lives.
