Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. 1 Peter 5:7 NIV
These comforting words from God are so true. As a believer early on, from
a Pioneer Girl at Grace on Madison Avenue, and through the years, I have
claimed His precious promises and learned that answers to prayer often come in
unexpected ways.
Looking back, one special God moment comes to mind. My husband and I
moved to the country with our three small children, and shortly after we had
our fourth. Feeling homebound, overwhelmed, and lonely, I sat at the kitchen
table reflecting on the situation. Well, really I was having a pity party, and the
tears started streaming down. Within minutes the phone rang and I gathered
my composure and answered. On the other end was the voice of a mother who
introduced herself and asked, “Since we have daughters the same age, how about
we get together for a playtime?” God showed His compassion and care in such an
awesome way by sending this dear Christian mom.
There is nothing unique in our lives, no matter how small or trivial, that He does
not know and care about. In faith, talk to your Heavenly Father and give Him
your sorrows, and if the Holy Spirit prompts the shedding of tears, let it go, for
He truly cares for you.
Gracious Lord and Heavenly Father, thank You for sending Your Son to pay
our sin debt so that we can come boldly before Your throne, through Your son,
and cast our cares.
