God works in different ways, but it is the same God who does the work in all of us.
A spiritual gift is given to each of us so we can help each other.
            1 Corinthians 12:5–7 NLT

Early on at Grace, I learned the importance of using my spiritual gifts to serve
the church. I also saw that many people were sitting on the sidelines and not using
            their gifts.
The apostle Paul in Romans 12 teaches that God has given each of us spiritual
gifts for the building up of the church. “God has given us different gifts for
doing certain things well. If your gift is serving others, serve them well. If you
are a teacher, teach well. If your gift is to encourage others, be encouraging. If
it is giving, give generously. If God has given you leadership ability, take the
responsibility seriously. And if you have a gift for showing kindness to others, do
it gladly” (Romans 12:6–8 NLT). The gifts of intercessory prayer and hospitality
are found in verses 12 and 13.

Each believer has God-given abilities that can strengthen the whole body. Your
special ability may seem small or large, but it is yours to use in God’s service.
Ask God to use your gifts to contribute to the strength and health of our body of
            believers.
Lord, we pray that each person will discover his or her spiritual gifts and use
them for the glory of God and the strengthening of Grace Church.
