All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable. 2 Timothy 3:16 NASB

            I became a Christian in November 1973 while a student at Bradley University
            and began attending Grace Presbyterian Church in 1975. I’ve heard well over
            2,000 sermons in this church, and one underlying truth has impacted me more
            than any other—the Bible is indeed the inspired and authoritative Word of God.
            We can, with confidence, believe what it says.
            The psalmist tells us in Psalm 19:7–11:
            “The law of the LORD is perfect, reviving the soul;
            the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple;
            the precepts of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart;
            the commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes;
            the fear of the LORD is clean, enduring forever;
            the rules of the LORD are true, and righteous altogether.
            More to be desired are they than gold, even much fine gold;
            sweeter also than honey and drippings of the honeycomb.
            Moreover, by them is your servant warned; in keeping them there is great reward.”
            When we open our Bibles, God is ready to speak to both our hearts and our
            minds. But the greatest challenge is this: are we willing to believe what God says
            and trust Him? Are we willing to humbly submit to God’s transforming grace?

            Lord, grab hold of our hearts and minds every time we open Your Word and
            by Your grace, change us for Your glory, that we might be recognized as a
            people who genuinely love You and are zealous for good works.
