Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building
up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear. Ephesians 4:29
Never in history have we had access to so many ways to communicate the
love of Christ. Technology literally can connect us with others around the world.
Yet sometimes instead of embracing this gift, I find myself frustrated by it.
But then we have Jesus. Jesus was the master communicator. He used every tool
available to reach those around Him. Scripture shows us many examples of Jesus
communicating in various ways to meet the needs of people. Sometimes He spoke
in parables to make spiritual principles come alive with word pictures. Sometimes
He gave sermons to large crowds as they followed Him around. Sometimes He
spoke tenderly and directly right to a person who needed love and compassion
like the woman at the well.
I’m thankful Jesus left us a timeless example of how to communicate with others.
On days when I feel I can’t clearly express the words of my heart, I have an
example to follow.
Lord, thank You for sending Jesus who gave us so many examples of how to
communicate effectively with others. Fill us with Your love and grace. And
give us words that encourage and draw others to You.
