But He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in
weakness.” 2 Corinthians 12:9
“Lord! I can’t do this!” I said as the tears streamed down my face. I sat alone in
our living room crying out to God as an overwhelming sense of fear came over
me. God had called me to a task at Grace Presbyterian Church, and I felt like the
burden was about to crush me. It was in that moment that the Holy Spirit brought
the words of 2 Corinthians to my mind…“My power is made perfect in weakness.”
“Father, I am so weak. But You say Your power is made perfect in my weakness,” I
whispered. “So take my weakness, Lord. I surrender it to You.” I literally stretched
out my arms to my Heavenly Father and rolled the burden over to His strong
arms. His peace began to flood my mind and heart.
And He reminded me again…“My grace is sufficient for you. I am all you need.”
Father, thank You for the promise that Your power is made perfect in our
weakness. May the gift of Your all sufficient grace help us to live out the calling
of the gospel wherever You may lead us.
