For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it
is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. Ephesians 2:8–9
She was there only a few years at the first church we attended as a young
married couple. Who? Doreen. She talked about Jesus like He was her best friend.
She prayed about everything. After inviting me to a Bible study in her home, with
free babysitting, I agreed to go.
It was there that God drew me to Himself. I admitted I was a sinner, believed
that Jesus died for me, and I accepted Him as my Savior and Lord. I was a sinner,
            saved by grace.
Shortly after, God moved us to Peoria where we found Grace Presbyterian
Church. As a baby Christian I was spoon fed by godly, wise pastors with sound,
truthful teaching from the Word of God. Knowing I needed to grow, God
provided spiritually mature women at Grace to disciple me, teach me, and love
            me in the Lord.
From the fullness of Jesus’ grace, I have received one blessing after another at
Grace Presbyterian Church. I often ponder the astonishing gift of salvation—by
grace, through faith in Jesus! It’s entirely a gift—not a result of works.
Jesus’ grace is sufficient for all, but its sufficiency is for one day at a time.

Let our hearts overflow with gratitude for the fact that grace continues to be
clearly taught at Grace Presbyterian, even after 150 years.
