Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice. Philippians 4:4

This verse represents what I’ve seen God do since coming to Grace
Presbyterian 10 years ago with my husband, Mike. We moved from the south to
the Midwest in order to establish Campus Outreach as our church’s ministry to
the college campuses in Central Illinois.
The college campus needs to hear and be discipled in the gospel of Jesus Christ.
As I’ve walked in partnership with the church, God has allowed me a small part in
His plan of ministering with Grace Presbyterian to college students.
There have been challenges at times, but also immense satisfaction seeing the
fruit God is producing on the campuses. His Word, particularly this chapter, has
moved my heart toward Him often. I learn in Philippians 4 to bring my requests
before God, to train my thinking on the true, pure, lovely, and right, and to know
I can do God’s will in Christ’s strength. As I often come back to these words, I am
assured the peace that leads to contentment in “plenty and hunger, abundance
and need” is there for me as I follow God’s plans and live in His ways.
Father, please continue to provide peace and contentment in our hearts as
we share Your gospel with the students on the college campuses in Central
Illinois. Give Grace Presbyterian the vision and means to make disciples in
        all realms of our world.
