Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it?
Isaiah 43:19
As the sun came up, the dark sky began to glow in reds and yellows. I could not
help but feel a sense of freshness. The tide had washed away yesterday’s footprints
and now the beach was a clean slate. A glorious new dawn to remind us that God
is always doing a new thing—and when He does a new thing in us—it is good.
No matter how dark the day before, the storm clouds in our heart can be washed
away by what God is doing in us. By God’s grace we are made new. We have
freedom from the sin and guilt in our past, and the fuel to move forward with
hope and joy. Constantly, day after day, He cleanses us and washes away our sins
like fading footprints in wet sand.
Only God can turn darkness into light.
His faithfulness endures forever.
We can choose to dwell on the past or we can choose to believe in the Creator
God and the personal relationship He has designed for each of us.
God, give us the power to let go of the heartache of yesterday for it is a new
day. Do a new work in us each day, oh Lord, that we may give You glory.
