That God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people’s sins
against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation. We are
therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us.
We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God. 2 Corinthians 5:19–20 NIV
“But why would He love you?” Those words were spoken to a lost young man
over 30 years ago. And, indeed, why would He love me? The answer is found
throughout Scripture. He does love me, and He loves you. He wants us to seek
His glory and gracious love.
It is through our acknowledgement of Him by prayer and repentance that we
receive redemption and grace from Him who wants us to seek His gracious love.
It is through repentance and redemption that we will “be reconciled to God”.
To be reconciled is to seek a life honoring Christ. His love is like no other as He
accepts us in our weak, broken human state. Only through Him can we find life
everlasting.
In reconciliation we die so we may be born again.
God, we praise Your name for all Your glory, power, and love. Alone we are but
weak and broken. Through You may all things be possible. By Your love for us,
we now know true peace, joy, and courage.
