And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus,
giving thanks to God the Father through him. Colossians 3:17
Have you ever had words play over and over in your mind? For me it was the
word, center. At the beginning of this year, 2018, I was reminded to clear my mind
and center it with good thoughts. Immediately I had a red flag go up. Yes, I wanted
to start my day with a meditation activity, but I wanted it to be a prayer not just
a meditation activity. I wanted it to be using Christ as the center of my thinking.
To be centered in something means “having a specified subject as the most
important or focal element.” As Christians, this definition makes so much sense
as we know the subject is Jesus Christ. He is the most important focal point.
Here is a challenge: start your day saying to yourself, “I am centered in Christ.”
Memorize the verse Colossians 3:17. In doing this simple act each day, you can
transform your mind to be centered in Christ. The best part of all, if we succeed
in this endeavor, we will be giving God the glory! We were made for that very
purpose!
May you be centered in Christ every day!
Lord, may we keep You as the center of our lives today, tomorrow, and forev-
ermore.
