Sandy & Randy Weyeneth
Members of the Collegiate Office and Leadership Team with The Navigators
General Information
Randy and Sandy have ministered to 45,000 Marines and their families at Camp Pendleton Marine Corps Base in Oceanside, California. They have won the lost, and established and discipled Christians to grow in their walk with Christ through one-to-one discipleship, Bible studies, small groups and activities together. Please pray for those in service there at Camp Pendleton and their families, it can be a difficult time either facing deportation or returning from it.
God has called them to move to Colorado Springs and work with the Navigators Collegiate Mission. They will continue discipling others and serve in these possible areas: communications and funding, collegiate alumni, and other ministry project areas. The Leadership team supports 561 collegiate Navigator staff/missionaries who minister to college students on 95 campuses. Just like the Navigators Military Mission reaches out to active duty servicemen and women for Christ, it is equally exciting that The Navigators Collegiate Mission has a dynamic impact in reaching students.
Randy served in the Marine Corps for twenty years as an infantry officer, including a command billet on the USS Tarawa during the Persian Gulf War. Prior to the Marines Corp, he trusted in Jesus Christ at a Young Life camp when he was 16 years old. he then went to college in California, was involved with The Navigator ministry, and after graduating, he joined the Marine Corps for leadership training and to be a witness for Christ. He retired from the Corps in 1993 having enjoyed his duty assignments and is now following his lifelong passion and calling to minister full time in evangelism and discipleship.
Sandy: Her maiden name is Buschman. She grew up with a church background and came to personal relationship with Christ through The Navigator ministry at Ball State University in Indiana. After finishing college, she worked a couple of years and helped out with the BSU Navigator ministry. She then worked full time for The Navigators in various support and training functions in Peoria, Illinois and later in Colorado Springs at our Navigator headquarters. She has gone on five short-term missions trips, one to Kenya and four to Russia. One was serving missionaries, one was a prayer trip, and three were for relational evangelism efforts through English Camps. How amazing and special to watch all that the Lord did!
Randy and Sandy married in 2001 and rejoice in there “God-story” of how He brought them together. Randy was a single parent in California and Sandy was a never-been-married single in Colorado who wanted to be married, but being in her late thirties, the chances seemed slim. They rejoice in all the Lord has done.
