"Fathers, do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord." - Ephesians 6:4
Our GraceKidz programs are meant to work with parents to raise children who love God and walk in His ways. We are not a replacement for home instruction, but a complement to the training that takes place in the home. Together, we are endeavoring to "Train up a child in the way he should go, so when he is old he will not depart from it." (Proverbs 22:6)
Because we are parents, too, we know training children is not always an easy task. We are here to help you! Below are some resources we think might be helpful for you. You'll find:

Children's Communing Membership Class
CHILDREN’S COMMUNING MEMBERSHIP CLASS
Winter 2010
PURPOSE
To prepare children who profess faith in Christ to join the church (understanding the privileges and responsibilities of doing so) and participate in the Lord’s Supper.
WHO MAY ATTEND?
The class is targeted for children around the age of third grade, but any child who professes faith in Christ and desires to join the church may participate. One parent must attend with each child.
DATES, TIMES, AND LOCATION
The class will meet on six consecutive Sundays, 8:30-9:30 a.m., January 24 – February 28. In the event of sickness or travel, you can arrange for you and your child to complete a missed session on the side. We will announce the location at Grace when the start date draws near.
CONTENT
Some basic theology about the Bible, the Trinity, the nature of God, sin, and the work of Christ and the Holy Spirit
The meaning of and need for salvation, and the requirement to repent and believe (enabled by grace)
The importance of living for Christ in all spheres of life
The writing and delivering of a personal testimony of salvation
The privileges and responsibilities of communing membership (“communing member” is the term used in the Presbyterian Church in America for someone who has professed faith in Christ, been baptized, and has been admitted by the elder “session” to church membership and participation in the Lord’s Supper)
Each participant will receive approximately one hour of homework each week, which will include some memorization and some fill-in-the-blank studies.
MEMBERSHIP ACTIONS
We will arrange for each child to present his or her testimony of salvation to a few members of the elder “session.”
We will arrange to publicly baptize those children who desire to join the church but have not yet been baptized.
We will recognize the children who complete the class and membership process during a Sunday morning worship service.
